Alliance of Valiant Arms (AVA) review

Alliance of Valiant Arms, or AVA, to summarize is one of THE most epic FPS games of all time. The game, to start off, the game was published by ijji. Once you sign up, a tutorial is available for a one time payment of 10,00 Euro. It teaches you the basic controls of the game like sprinting, changing between classes, the basics of sniping and shooting, laying C4, escorting a tank, opening doors, picking up weapons, and so on. After the tutorial, you will receive 10,00 Euro and 3 expendable weapons for each of the three classes: an MP5K RAIL for your point man class; a scoped M4A1 for your rifleman class; and a SV98 for your sniper class. Now after the tutorial, you’re on your own. Let me briefly describe the game modes for you:

DEMOLITION: Demolition is basically Search & Destroy’s identical twin. There are 2 sides of the map, and twoava Alliance of Valiant Arms screenshot 4bomb areas. The teams switch off mid game: One team needs to eliminate the other in order to prevent them from laying the C4. The other team’s objective is TO plant the C4 at one of the 2 bomb areas. The first to grab the C4 from the shelf on the offensive team has the ability to plant it. If that person is killed, then the opposing team is able to pick up that block of C4. The way the offensive team wins is by planting the C4 and allowing it to go off. The way that the defending team is able to win if by eliminating the enemy forces. There are 2 maps for this mode so far.

DOMINATION: In this mode, two teams battle in order to take control of an EMP site in Latvia. There are two places to gain control on the site, one above the other. When one team has control of the command post, the other team has an “air strike” meter that charges. When the meter reaches the top, that team is able to initiate an air strike. Once your team’s meter gets to the top, your team wins. There is only one map for this game mode.

ANNIHILATION: Annihilation is basically team deathmatch. You can set the kills from 80 to 180. There is also a time limit of 15:00 in case you don’t reach the maximum kills. There are 2 maps for this game mode.

ESCORT: In this game mode, your mission is to escort a tank through a city. One team’s objective is to escort theava Alliance of Valiant Arms screenshot 3tank, and the other’s objective is to prevent the escorting from breaking into their line of defense in the set time limit. The team preventing the escort from happening is able to equip an RPG-7. Two hits from this RPG-7 will successfully destroy the tank. The escorting team is then able repair the tank back to full health. With one person repairing the tank, it will take about 15 seconds, give or take a few. Depending on the map, there are 1-3 checkpoints where the defending team is pushed back to a farther spawn point, and the escorting team is pushed forward to a closer spawn point. Whoever gets the farthest in the amount of time given, or whoever gets through the line of defense the fastest wins. There are currently three maps for this game mode.

FREE-FOR-ALL: Free for all is like Combat Arm’s One Man Army. In this mode it is every man for himself fighting off up to 15 people. The first person to get the maximum amount of kills in the set amount of time wins the match. There are currently 2 maps for this game mode.

The reward for earning these badges varies depending on the amount of skill needed to earn it. Once you reach level six, your are “banned” from the first beginner channel, but you are still allowed to play in the second beginner channel. Also, once you reach level six, you are able to make a clan.

The Euro earned from these challenges can go towards buying a permanent weapon. You get to keep this weapon, but you should, but are not required to, repair your weapons often. If you do not repair your weapons, they may malfunction often, depending on how long you used it without repairing it.  Some weapons are expendable, meaning that you can use them until there “structure” runs out, and they are unusable; expendable weapons CANNOT be repaired. All items are also expendable.

Personally, my favorite part of the game was the fact tat every team has a squad leader. That squad leader is able toava Alliance of Valiant Arms screenshot 1 use what is called Reconnaissance Binoculars. These “Recon goggles” are able to spot enemy troops and show them for the whole team to see. You basically need to zoom in on the goggles spot a person/people, put them in your sight and click. The whole team will then be able to see who you targeted. If someone kills who you targeted, you get what is called Leader Score. Speaking of extra score, You can also collect Dog Tags from fallen enemies and allies. Once you collect three of these dog tags, you get extra experience at the end of the game. You also have a chance of a “Lucky Shot” where you get extra points on a certain kill.

Overall, I see this game as a major accomplishment. Personally, I predict that this game will be a very popular FPS (It’s certainly my favorite). I see no flaws with this game whatsoever, except for a few glitches. By the way, our clan name for AVA is: DotGamerClan .
